At Least Four Dead, Widespread Damage Reported

Oklahoma City Metro Area Under Tornado Watch

At least four people have lost their lives in a devastating tornado outbreak that tore through southern Oklahoma overnight. The twisters left a trail of destruction, causing widespread damage to homes and businesses. The National Weather Service confirmed multiple tornado touchdowns in the region, with Holdenville and other towns bearing the brunt of the storm's fury.

In the small town of Holdenville, with a population of approximately 5,000, tragedy struck when a tornado ripped through late Saturday evening, killing two people and injuring four others. Emergency responders worked tirelessly through the night to clear debris and search for survivors.

As the deadly storm system continued its path, an infant was among the victims, losing their life to the devastating winds. The total number of fatalities has reached four, with dozens more suffering injuries of varying severity.

Authorities have issued a tornado watch for much of the News 9 viewing area, including the Oklahoma City metro area, until 3 am. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to stay safe in the event of severe weather.
