PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan releases statement

Grayson Murray, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, has died at the age of 26, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed on Saturday. Murray withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday due to a medical issue and passed away the following morning.

"We are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Grayson Murray," Monahan said in a statement. "Grayson was an incredibly talented golfer, but more importantly, he was a wonderful person who was loved by everyone who knew him."

Murray, who was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, turned professional in 2017 and quickly established himself as one of the rising stars on the PGA Tour. He won his first title at the 2019 Barbasol Championship and added a second victory at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship.
